Foodstuffs that are act as lightening agents. Fruits such as pineapples, lemons, berries etc. contain vitamin C and are perfect for your complexion.
- Crush any one of these fruits and apply on your skin. Leave for 30 minutes and wash off with water.
- Curd can also be used for the same purpose. It has a lightening and exfoliating effect on the skin.
- You can also use lemon and besan / gram flour paste. Rub it on your face in a circular motion for 10-15 minutes and then wash it off with water.

Before you use any pack, cream or medicines for your tan, make sure you have a shower and remove all the dirt from your body.
- Mix together besan / gram flour and curd and rub it on the tanned area in a circular motion for about 10-15 minutes. Then wash it off with plain water. Follow this routine for about a month to see visible results.
- Use a glycolic peel once a month. It contains glycolic acid and is used to rejuvenate the skin by removing dead skin cells. It can be used on different parts of body like the face, neck and even hands and legs.
- Calamine lotion also helps in curing sunburns. Calamine, a mixture of zinc oxide, is an active ingredient that also helps prevent skin infections.
Banish Blemishes
To reduce blemishes you require pulp of any vitamin C based fruit, such as, orange, lime, strawberries, etc . Mix the pulp with besan / gram flour to make it thick enough to help it stick on the face. Apply this paste on your face and leave it for at least 2-3 hours. Wash it off with a soap-free cleanser.
