1. Salwaar Kameez
If you are a relative or a close friend of the couple, don't expect to sit pretty through the occasion. You are going to have to do a lot of running around. So choose an outfit that looks great and is comfortable too. A salwaar kameez is ideal - it will let you enjoy the wedding without feeling washed out by the end of it all.
Patiala salwaars and chudidars without gathers at the end are in. Team it with an intricately embroidered kurta that has a low-cut back and tie up strings. For that fabulous fit, make sure your chudidar is made of a stretchable fabric.
Are your well-toned legs your best asset? If so, then flaunt them with a soft, transparent, netted chudidar. Top it up with a knee-length or long kurta and you've got yourself an elegant ensemble.
2. Indo-western
Are you the kind of gal who can't do without her jeans? If so, then an Indo western outfit is for you - it is eye-catching, trendy and comfy too. And a designer brand will have those aunts talking with envy until the next wedding comes along.
Embroidered kurtas with asymmetrical hemlines or spaghetti straps with pants or capris make a great indo-western outfit for a wedding.
However, if you are more into skirts, team an embroidered spaghetti strap top with a flowing skirt. You could even try Rani Mukharjee's look the song 'Gore gore' from the movie 'Hum Tum'… the one where she looked absolutely stunning in a brocade corset with a crushed flowing skirt. You could even team a hot corset with pants or a straight skirt.
3. Saree
Nothing looks more grand and elegant than a traditional saree. If you are not used to wearing a saree, try one in chiffon and georgette. These fabrics are light, and easy to handle. They also look rich when embroidered with sequins. Shaded sarees in bright or pastel tones go well for morning and evening ceremonies.
However, the latest trend is chiffon sarees with flared ruffles at the edges.
4. Ghagra Choli
Flowing ghagras never go out of fashion. But if you are looking for something different, a mermaid skirt would be the right choice. They are comfortable and are available in several materials like crepe and raw silk.
If diamonds are your best friend, then get Swarovski crystals embedded onto your outfit. They look as good as real diamonds and cost much less.
With so much variety and unique designs, you are sure to end up with something special at the next wedding you attend.
Sheetal, Sagar, Benzer, and Kimaya are some of the places that showcase great outfits with unique designs.
